Conducted smoke and soot investigations, wrote reports and was acting Safety Representative for client, Pankow Construction, on one of their Los Angeles Community College District Projects which entails daily inspections, verification of safety procedures done by contractors, implementing new safety policies and daily training on new safety policies, enforcing compliance with OSHA and CalOSHA regulations and conducting site specific orientations and training.   Assist subcontractors on JHA’s (Job Hazard Analyses), conduct Weekly Toolbox Talk trainings on relevant topics for week’s activities, and develop a new idea to incorporate into their corporate safety policies as well as maintaining all of Pankow’s safety policies.  Ensure compliance with all PPE required onsite.  Ensure construction site is free from environmental hazards for both workers and general public.  Enforce safety regulations from both corporate policies and LACCD guidelines when they are more stringent than OSHA or Cal-OSHA.

Put in place and update specific site emergency protocols.  Maintain a database and records of MSDS sheets for chemicals brought on site and catalog first aid and emergency procedures for chemicals.  Conduct emergency and evacuation drills.

Investigate accidents/injuries, near misses, and complaints. 

Manage OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program) for all employees and subcontractors, triage all incidents through on-call emergency first aid and/or transport injured workers to OCIP approved medical facilities and follow up with workers after receiving medical treatment or had complaints.
